Garden Love

For the past few summers, I have been really jealous of my neighbor's basil. Her garden has the most abundant and tasty basil! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this summer's garden produces a winner. My kids love pesto, and it is a staple in my fridge.

Basil Pesto


1 bunch of basil

1/3 C virgin olive oil (first cold pressed)

3 cloves of garlic

1/3 C walnuts (or pine nuts or combo)

1/4 C Reggiano Parmesan cheese (grated from the block)

pinch of kosher salt (more or less to taste)


Put all the ingredients in a food processor and enjoy with pasta, fish, chicken, or as a sandwich spread. #pesto #garden #herbs #healthy #eating #summer
